I’ve probably mentioned this before, but I just bought my second pair of Custom Stage Pants by Hollywood Leggings. This place does great work and the price is a steal! I was looking for something flashy (as usual) but some sort of design I had pictured in my head. I sent them a basic sketch of what I wanted done and they said no problem. The jeans I wanted reminded me of the band, that I can’t get enough of right now, called Motionless In White. I love the bands style, so they inspired the jeans I came up with (with some obvious modifications of course).
First off they had to be black to start and then the fun stuff can start. I sent in a pair of jeans to her that I wanted done up. I was thinking laces, snake skin, patches etc. Give it that rock ‘n roll edge. When I did send in my jeans I got a call to go over the specifics to make sure every detail was correct. That’s what I love, a company that takes pride in their work and cares for customer satisfaction. Anyway after a couple of back and forth(s) the pants were done in about three weeks! For those who don’t order custom pants, that is rocket fast! They’re totally awesome!
I highly recommend Hollywood Leggings as they are great. They can take an old pair of jeans and bring them back to life. So if you’re looking to add some spice to an old pair of jeans or you want to spice up your wardrobe in general, these are the guys to go to. The best part is that you don’t have to guess if they will fit or not, because they’re YOUR jeans! Check It! www.HollywoodLeggings.com or visit their Etsy shop www.etsy.com/shop/HollywoodLeggings
Let me start off by saying I’m not a fan of war films. Not because I’m a girl (I do like my fare share of violent flicks), but because for the most part they’re all the same and boring! I should perhaps make myself more clear. Don’t mistake “Epics” (Ie: Gladiator, Braveheart, Troy etc) with your standard 20th century Trench warfare/Nazi Germany flick.
It was a boring weekend with nothing planned and I heard the rave reviews from friends and critiques alike to check out “Fury”. As I mentioned previously I have my reserves regarding 20th century war flicks, but I’m open minded and I think Brad Pitt is an underrated actor. The story centers around “Wardaddy” (Brad Pitt) and his crew making their way through Nazi Germany on a final mission, in hopes to ending Hitler’s tyrannical reign.
The acting was great all around. Brad did a great job in portraying the leader of these questionable characters, and brought a sincerity/lethality to his character. The rest of the cast aka crew really brought their A game and you feel how each character was so different yet had a dysfunctional family bond going on. The film consisted of a good script but it lacked a decent story. It’s practically just like any other WWII flick out there. Good guys come in, hate the Nazis kill the Nazis, show you the ugliness of war and blah blah blah. It’s boring, it’s more of the same and a tired played out account. Yes I realize it’s a telling of a historical account but throw the audience a curveball. Less Hollywood cheese (one crew to kill them all) and more foundation in the story (yes we know Nazis are evil). I still stand by what I say that all war films that take place in the 20th century are meh and so was Fury.
So like every girl I strive to keep my skin in tip top shape. I have oily skin and blackheads seem to love to rear their ugly selves on my nose. I’ve been having this problem for years and I would try everything to get rid of them. Sticking my face near boiling water, then squeezing them out, buying those strips and scrubs but they always come back! It was annoying to say the least.
So I was at my local Rite Aid and heard rave reviews about the Garnier Blackhead Eliminating scrub. It was on sale, so I bit the bullet. Brought it home and put it to the test. The bottle did say it was for oily skin, so that was a plus. I put a little in the palm of my hand and applied it gently on my nose, with a circular scrubbing motion. (I should mention I did put warm to hot water on my nose to open up the pores, BEFORE i put on the scrub) Then rinsed with cool water after about 2 minutes of leaving it on. Well the verdict was in and my blackheads disappeared! In all honesty I wasn’t expecting much at all, and I’m still kind of shocked this scrub worked. After the horrid amount of products I went through, just to get rid of some tiny dots on my nose, but I can honestly say the fight is finally over.
So if you’re looking to get rid of your blackheads and have oily skin like me, then I would recommend Garnier Clean. I still use it at least twice a week to keep those suckers at bay and it works wonders. It also feels great once you’re done washing, your nose will feel so smooth. Sooooooo go and try it, it’s only $5 and does it’s job.
Still aching from my ascent of the Culver City stairs this past weekend! The scenic overlook is mesmerizing, it stretches from the Ocean to Downtown LA. I had heard of the stairs and trail leading to it but had never been there before, this was my first time. Let me tell you how I eventually got there without really planning it.
With the Los Angeles heat still steaming from under my skin, I had woken up from a deep sleep but had a hard time finding my way back into it. So I layed down awake for quite some time, the balcony door wide open and stared at the deep blue sky. Eventually the sun rose and I felt the urge to get in the car and head to the beach to jog a few miles. But after second thought I felt like simply driving. I drove South and at some point made a left onto Jefferson Blvd, passed a big building on top of a hill which I later found out was Marymount Loyola University. Within minutes I passed a group of people stretching in their workout outfits. I pull over and there they were; early morning climbers hitting a long stairway carved in the hill. I joined in without hesitation, ready to climb up the monster! The city overlook is worth the climb, one cannot regret it. The strangest thing was that it made me reflect on the grace of the present moment. The “high altitude” oxygen lit me up with a renewed energy; I was ready to jog on the trail! I highly recommend it to everyone, whether yo want a fat burning workout or simply an embrace with nature as the sun rises. It is an easy drive from Santa Monica or Marina Del Rey. Take Jefferson Blvd. all the way to the foot of the stairs, parking is easy and plenty…at least in the early morning hours. Go an be renewed!
Finding the best fit in each beauty product category is a fun quest; it requires lots of trial and error’s but in the end one always find what they are looking for. So was it for my new found mascara. I had always been looking for the one mascara I could finally label “best of all”. When I find THE one, I always stick with it. I have used several mascaras over the year, big brand names and lesser names. If I find a new mascara that is better than the previous one, still there is something of the previous one missing in the new found one. Ah! I wish I could pick and choose the efficient components in each and blend “my own”. Yeah… It does not work so. Fortunately! The silver lining! It is my friend Sarah who told me about the Lancome brand. She had been using Lancome’s “Hypnose” mascara for the first day when I noticed how remarkable her eyelashes were on that day. Frankly, they were fuller and longer. So on my next make up shopping stop I made sure to make my first stop at the Lancome department. There it was, I’ve found THE mascara. “Hypnose”… The name bore the promise of fuller and denser eyelashes! And yes, the promise was fulfilled. This mascara keeps your eyelashes hydrated, it does not puff your eyelids up and it remains intense throughout the day and beyond. Its brush is truly avant-garde and it does not clump at all. I wish I would have come across this product sooner. Well, now is still sooner than later, right? I highly recommend it for a try, you will love it.
Today I wanted to talk about a must have for every girls makeup arsenal. Eyeliner! I’ve been through so many brands and settled on Revlon Color Stay Skinny. The thing is I wanted to experiment a little and see what else was out there, which eventually led to MAC. I know some people that kept raving about them but never bothered trying since they are so expensive. Regardless I bit the bullet and walked into a MAC store and purchased their blackest shade. For $20 it better be the greatest pencil on earth!
So as soon as I started using it I didn’t understand the hype. The ends kept breaking off and it was never really sharp enough, it was dark though, but definitely not worth the $20 price tag. Another thing that bothered me was how fast the MAC eyeliner went. I usually put on some eyeliner everyday to give my eyes a good pop and the MAC lasted three weeks, where as the Revlon lasted over a month. The point I’m trying to make is that it was too expensive for what it was, and not worth it in my opinion.
With that being said I still prefer liquid liners to the pencils as they last allot longer and I find them easier to use. So would I recommend MAC eyeliner? Sure if you like spending more money on something that really isn’t different from some other brands. All in all I wouldn’t recommend it to a friend but I guess MAC is popular for a reason I just don’t know why?
So a friend mine kept talking about this Pizza place up in Valley Village called Joe Peeps and said it was one of the best or the best pizza in L..A. (I wasn’t paying attention) so naturally as a pizza freak I had to check it out. So on a sunny Saturday afternoon we drove up to Valley Village to put his words to the test. There are some good Pizza places in L.A. but nothing that really impressed me, especially NY style.
We get to the place and it’s like a little divey, community styled place with writing on the walls. Everything from signatures to quotes, bands and all. I also love when these places have celebrity pictures on the walls with their signatures, i don’t know but something about that is pretty cool. It was a small place but I was here for the Pizza not the atmosphere. As per my friends recommendation we ordered the large cheese with extra sated mushrooms. (I love mushrooms) The staff there were so nice and it seemed to be family owned, so that’s always a plus as they care for what they put out. You can see them make the pizza right in front of you so that’s definitely cool.
Finally the wait was over and the pizza looked great and smelt even better. So I finally took a taste and let me tell you the sated mushrooms with the cheese was AMAZING! The crust was just right, not too thin and not too much on the bread side. The portion was big enough and trust me I’m fussy, when I want a NY pizza I want a big ass slice! These guys are definitely pros and my friend actually delivered on his promise. I was definitely impressed. So if you have a craving for a giant pizza and are in the Valley, go to Joe Peeps!
So I was in the market for a new pair of leggings. Now like my name suggests I LOVE Leggings! I have closet full of them but wanted something a little different this time around. I wanted something with stripes. I found this great site called Hollywood Leggings that has an awesome selection of leggings for such a cheap price and found the exact pair I was looking for.
The white and black Zebra striped leggings were a perfect match and high wasted! The checkout process was simple and the shipping free! I received the package real quick so I was impressed with the delivery speed and the leggings were what I expected, great! They’re slim fit and extremely comfortable. They also go great with practically anything I put on, and I wear them on nights out, to the grocery store, school etc. Also they make my legs look longer and slimmer which is a huge bonus for me. All I can say if your are looking for some leggings and cheap prices then check out Hollywood Leggings, they’re awesome and cheap!
Rating: 5/5 🙂
So I’ve been wanting to go blonde for some time now, but never could bring myself to do it after all the horror stories I’ve heard. Needles to say I bit the bullet and it turned out great! First of all I have naturally medium chestnut brown hair, so the lighting process shouldn’t be to hard? The color I was going for was more towards a light Golden blonde, like Amber Heard in the Rum Diaries (I’m a Hunter S. Thompson fan).
I followed the instructions on the box and applied the bleach all over my head. First of all let me say that the consistency was great. It was easy to apply and it didn’t burn my scalp, little tickling but that’s about it. I didn’t leave it on for too long as my hair was already somewhat light (around 25 min) and used a 30 volume developer I got from Sally’s beauty supply. When the 25min were up I rinsed it out in the shower and put in some deep conditioner.
Next was the TONER. (Toner is VERY important, as it removes those orange and banana yellow tones) I used the infamous Wella White Lady T-18 (With 10 Volume Developer) and put it on for only 5min. Got back into the shower to rinse and condition and voila! I was done and the color came out great! My hair feels and looks amazing as well, now let’s see if blondes really do have more fun!
